
JOB TITLE: Legal & Compliance Officer

Salary: ₦400,000 Net Monthly
Role Summary
We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Legal & Compliance Officer to oversee and manage the company’s legal and regulatory compliance functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organization operates in full compliance with applicable laws, industry regulations, and internal policies while supporting corporate governance and risk management processes.
This role requires a professional who can proactively advise management, maintain compliance standards, monitor regulatory developments, and strengthen internal systems to support sustainable business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining Compliance files, including uploading and organizing documents in a document management system.
- Keeping up-to-date with regulatory development.
- Ensure the firm continues to meet its threshold conditions at all times.
- Gathering as much information on the company and participating in on-the-job training wherever possible.
- Participating in meetings, workshops, and team-building events.
- Bringing positive energy into the company, and forming lasting professional relationships with staff.
- Conducting research and assisting wherever possible.
- Compiling reports and making presentations.
- Analyze existing operational and compliance systems and recommend improvements.
- Accountable for ensuring all the essential guidelines are put in proper place accurately adhering to industry rules and regulations.
- Suggests/advise the management regarding the implementation of compliance programs
- Handle corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders
- Manage Records & Affairs of the Board of Directors of the company.
- Ensuring Compliance of Portfolio company with regulatory requirement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B).
- Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC experience in Legal, Compliance, or related roles.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent understanding of legal documentation, compliance processes, and corporate governance practices.
- Familiarity with Capital & Money Markets and industry practices will be an added advantage.
- Experience working within regulated financial or corporate environments.
